Between 2017 and 2019, I was deeply embedded in Miami's nightlife scene — during a time when access wasn't advertised, it was controlled.
Working alongside major Miami Beach hostels — SoBe Hostel, Rock Hostel, and Miami International Hostel — I coordinated and hosted hundreds of international guests seeking one thing: real access.
This wasn't about going out.
This was about designing full nightlife experiences.
This wasn't theory.
This was execution.

Immersive Experience
There are events that happen — and there are environments that are built. The Mariah Carey Holiday Bar was the latter: a fully immersive, sensory-rich installation that transformed a Miami Beach venue into an entirely different world for the holiday season.
Every detail was considered. Hundreds of lights woven through the ceiling, oversized ornamental décor, velvet draping, cinematic projections, and a spatial narrative that moved guests through distinct rooms — each one building on the last, each one impossible to dismiss.
BXLENCE was involved in the on-ground coordination and presence during this activation — a production of this scale demands precision at every layer, from the earliest setup to the final guest moment.

Since 2019, BXLENCE has maintained a continuous and organic presence within the Art Basel Miami Beach ecosystem — not as an observer, but as an active participant. Through a relationship of trust built with the fair's organizers over multiple years, including a direct personal connection with Eric Smith and Kelly Smith, we earned the credibility and access that culminated in 2023 with our own gallery booth at Spectrum Miami: Mirando Gallery®, presenting the work of contemporary Mexican artist Yuri Zatarain.
What began as immersive on-site experience became a full curatorial and logistical operation — from international shipping and booth installation to collector engagement and VIP hosting, executed with the same precision that defines everything we do.

Contemporary Mexican Artist · Based in Mexico
Yuri Zatarain is a contemporary Mexican visual artist whose work navigates the intersection of identity, interiority, and the human form. His paintings — rendered in a precise, hyper-refined figurative language — are immediately recognizable: monumental circular canvases presenting faces in a state of serene suspension, eyes closed, breathing quietly between worlds.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Zatarain creates images of extraordinary stillness and psychological depth. His subjects exist in a timeless in-between, a space that is simultaneously intimate and universal. The circular format he favors amplifies this effect — each work becomes a portal, a moment of concentrated contemplation held within a perfect frame.
Zatarain's work has been exhibited across Mexico and the United States, and his 2023 presentation at Spectrum Miami, produced and executed by BXLENCE under the Mirando Gallery® platform, represented his most significant international platform to date. His paintings were received with strong collector interest and notable critical attention throughout the fair week.

Built Over Years
Our involvement in the Art Basel ecosystem did not begin in 2023. Since 2019, we have been present on the ground during Art Basel Miami Beach week — attending fair openings, supporting artist participants, navigating the inner workings of Red Dot and Spectrum Miami, and building the kind of relationships that cannot be purchased.
Our direct personal relationship with Eric Smith and Kelly Smith, the organizers of the Red Dot and Spectrum Miami fairs, was built through consistency, genuine presence, and demonstrated competence. It was through this trust that the opportunity to present a booth at Spectrum Miami was extended to us — not solicited, but earned.
